Deerfield, Ill. – October 5, 2009 – While the Windy City must concede to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Chicago-based Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. [Fortune Brands, Inc. With today’s announcement, Brazil is at the top of the winner’s podium. Here is a drink to celebrate the “first” gold of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

 

1 part Sauza® Tequila Gold,

1/2 part DeKuyper® Triple Sec

1 part lime juice

 

Shake all ingredients with ice. Pour into salt-rimmed margarita glass. Garnish with a lime.

 

Created by Chicago bartender Adam Geenen, Salud Tequila Lounge, try this martini to get you into the Olympic “Spirit”

 

2 parts Hornitos™ Reposado Tequila
1 part DeKuyper® Pomegranate Liqueur

1 part fresh squeezed lime juice

1 part simple syrup

 

Combine ingredients into a cocktail shaker.  Shake vigorously for 5 seconds.  Strain into a chilled martini glass.  Garnish with a lime wheel.

 

The Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail, made with cachaça. Beam Global created a unique rum-version of this celebrated drink.

 

1 part Cruzan® Aged Light Rum

3 dashes of sugar

4 limes

 

Muddle the sugar and lime wedges in a rocks glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour Cruzan Rum into the glass. Stir well and garnish with a sugar cane.

 

A four year-old Bourbon for the next four years. Chicago in 2020?

 

2 parts Jim Beam® Bourbon

1 part lemon juice

Splash of lemon-lime soda

Dash of granulated sugar

1 lemon slice

1 cherry

Sweet & sour mix

 

Mix Bourbon with lemon juice, sugar and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Garnish the glass with a lemon slide and a cherry or combine bourbon with a favorite sweet & sour mix.

 

They don’t know what they’re missing here.

 

1 part EFFEN® Vodka

1 part Champagne

1 part pineapple juice

 

Mix ingredients and serve in a martini glass.
