Survey finds British Columbians are overwhelmingly naughty this Christmas
Hornitos™ Tequila asks “Who’s been mischievous?” this holiday season
Vancouver, British Columbia - December 10, 2009 — An overwhelming majority of British Columbians admitted to calling in sick for work even though they were not, according to a recent survey conducted by Hornitos Tequila, explores which provinces are the most mischievous.
Ninety-five per cent of British Columbians surveyed, compared to 75% from those living elsewhere in Canada, said “yes” when asked if they’ve ever faked being sick in order to get out of work. The informal survey, part of Hornitos’ new Mischieve brand campaign, also asked questions about white lies on resumes, getting caught “in the act,” and pretending to be someone you’re not, with some surprising results. ‘Mischieve’ is a philosophy of life that prescribes playfulness in the form of pranks, trickery and other good natured misbehaviour.
“The word ‘mischieve’ is a play on the spontaneous, sociable and borderline sinful situations people tend to get themselves into when they celebrate,” says Stephanie Rickard-Chadda, Brand Manager at Beam Global Canada, which markets and distributes Hornitos, one of the world’s smoothest and most popular 100% Agave Tequilas. “And Hornitos is known for boosting spontaneity!”
The Mischieve survey’s other findings include:
79% of BCers surveyed say they’ve pretended to be someone they’re not at some point
The same percentage in BC, 79%, also say they’ve told a white lie on their resume in an effort to get the job; this compares to just 37.5% for those in the rest of Canada
Almost three quarters of BC respondents, 74%, blush at the fact that they’ve been caught “in the act”
“It’s pretty clear that people in BC aren’t as innocent as their fellow Canadians might believe,” Rickard-Chadda says. “In light of these stats, it seems ‘mischieving’ is already well underway!”
To celebrate spontaneity, Hornitos has created several specialty tequila cocktails, available at select bars and restaurants throughout British Columbia, two of which are listed below:
Horni Wallbanger
1 part Hornitos™ Plata 2 parts orange juice ½ parts Galliano
Orange slice for garnish Add ingredients to a rock glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange slice.
Hornipolitan
